FieldScope User Permissions
Project organizers can set up projects to allow different levels of platform and data access for project leaders and participants.
There are three kinds of projects on FieldScope:
- Open project - Project access is not restricted at all. All individuals may join and start adding data.
- Semi-open project - Access to project data is not restricted. Individuals must be approved to start adding data.
- Closed project - Access to project data and the ability to add data is restricted to approved users.
There are also different kinds of users on a FieldScope project:
- Project Organizer - This is the individual who is the main steward of the project. Only one individual may be set as the Organizer.
- Project Managers - These are individuals who are co-stewards of the project. There is no limit to the number of managers a project can have.
- Bulk Upload Users - These individuals can bulk upload observations of data. They cannot manage project users.
- Coordinators - These individuals are only present in projects that use the Groups function. Coordinators can manage the users and data associated with their group.
- Participants - These are the users who are registered with the project.
- Casual Visitors - These individuals might visit the FieldScope project page, but are not registered with the project.
To see what kind of access each user type has in each project type, see the matrix at the link here. Use this to help determine what kind of project setup will work best for your needs. If you have further questions, please contact the FieldScope team at: info@fieldscope.org.
