Download Project Data
Downloading data from a project into a spreadsheet format that you can use in other programs and analyses outside of FieldScope is a simple process.
- To download project data, open the Data portion of the site.
- Make sure the Table view of the data is enabled, rather than Map view.
In the data table view, you can switch between different tabs to show just your data, the most recent 25 observations, or all data contributed by project participants. Select which tab you want to download data from.
- Click on the Download icon in the upper left-hand corner of the table.
- In the popup box that appears, select whether you would like to download the data in a spreadsheet as an XLS or CSV file .
Please note: XLS is the native file format for Microsoft Excel. CSV files can be used with most spreadsheet programs, such as Microsoft Excel or Google Spreadsheets.
The brief progression below demonstrates this process.
Downloading Filtered Data
You can also download data filtered into a particular subset of data. To do this, you will first need to create a filter set.
Select the parameter you would like to filter by. In this example, the parameter is “Number,” which allows you to limit data for a given field based on a numeric range.
For instance, this range limits data to a subset that only shows observations where the minimum water temperature was 0°C and the maximum was 17°C. |
While still in the filter set editing view, toggle the view from “Map” to “Table.”
From there, click on the Download Data option.
You will have the option to download a .csv or .xls file. |
