Explore and Change Maps
When working in a FieldScope project, users are able to switch between basemaps to see different views of the area being explored. Click on the map icon in the upper left-hand corner of the map to see a list of the basemaps and map layers available.
Many projects hosted on FieldScope include additional thematic maps that show important boundaries and information about a region. If a project includes additional thematic maps, they will be available below the basemap selections. The example below shows a watersheds thematic map that is included in the Chesapeake Bay water quality FieldScope project.
Click on the Legend icon at the upper right-hand corner of a map to see what the symbologies in any given map layer stand for.
Access more information about any data point on a map by clicking on it to produce a data summary card.
For more information on additional ways that map displays can be customized, see the Customizing a Map Data Display article.
Project users who would like to see different thematic maps included in a FieldScope project should contact the project organizers to make this request or send the FieldScope team thematic map ideas using the form located here.
